The Cafe at The Loren Collaboration Series continues in October with Chicago's renowned bakery Spinning J!
Spinning J is a bakery and soda fountain located in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Founded by chef and baker Dinah Grossman in 2015, Spinning J opened as a reimagined 1928 soda fountain bar and bakery offering baked goods, sandwiches and sodas with house-made syrups, all served on mix-matched vintage restaurant china and glasses. In Spinning J’s first year of business, The New York Times’ “36 Hours in Chicago” article named it a place to visit. The soda shop and bakery has also been featured in Eater Chicago, The Chicago Tribune and Condé Nast Traveler. In 2022, it won the title of Best Pie in America in “Good Morning America’s” United States of Pie competition.
Through October, Cafe at The Loren will offer Spinning J's signature Matcha Almond Tea Cake, Blue Cheese Biscuits and Blueberry Scones for purchase at the cafe.
A portion of proceeds will support The Loren Roots Imperative, a nonprofit dedicated to offsetting the carbon footprint of development.
