Join us for a special Guest Chef Series Kick Off Weekend featuring From Scratch Host, David Moscow, and The Loren's own Chef Christian Grindrod and Chef Lawrence Godinho!

To kick off the 2025 Loren Guest Chef Series, we are celebrating The Loren Austin and The Loren Bermuda’s feature on the hit TV show From Scratch! Host David Moscow will be joining us for an intimate fireside chat and book signing on Thursday, May 8th, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his culinary adventures. On Friday, May 9th, we’ll screen the From Scratch episode featuring David’s visit to Austin, where he cooks with The Loren Austin’s Chef Christian Grindrod of Nido, followed by the world premiere of the Bermuda episode, starring The Loren Bermuda’s Chef Lawrence Godinho. The celebration culminates on Saturday, May 10th, with an exclusive From Scratch-inspired dinner, where Chefs Christian and Lawrence will cook together for the first time, blending flavors from Austin and Bermuda in an unforgettable dining experience. This is an incredible moment for The Loren to be showcased on From Scratch, and we can’t wait to share this special occasion with you!

David Moscow is the co-creator, executive producer, and host of From Scratch. He began his career as an actor, starring in over a dozen movies and TV shows, including Big (where he played the child version of Tom Hanks) and Newsies. His passion for food always played a huge role in his life and is something he shares with his father. In an effort to help us reconnect with the food that sustains our lives, David spent the past 7 years exploring the world of sustainable eating and how the food we love comes to be. Always seeking to approach food from a holistic perspective, he takes us on deep dives (sometimes literally) with fisherfolk, farmers, scientists, community activists, historians, while highlighting stories of local communities. Davidʼs literary debut From Scratch: Adventures in Harvesting, Hunting, Fishing and Foraging on a Fragile Planet is a National Bestseller and a Nautilus Award winner for social and environmental justice.
